I don’t have much experience, should I bother with Linked? YES!

I don’t really care for social media stuff, why should I bother => because it matters!
Adding a professional profile on LinkedIn is essential for great networking which can lead to job success. It is not unheard of to get job offers via LinkedIn. If you are not already on LinkedIn, I would highly recommend that you set yourself up. If nothing else it is a great way of collecting virtual business cards so that it is easy to maintain contact with colleagues that you may have worked with years ago.
3 top tips for using LinkedIn wisely!
1. Please remember that LinkedIn is a professional site, for professional networking => keep your weekend shenanigans for
Facebook or Instagram!
2. Use a sensible profile picture. That fun pic from your latest night out is not the one to use on Linkedin! A cropped pic from the latest formal occasion you went to is often used, but personally I am not a fan. If you want to be viewed as a professional, your photo needs to reflect your professional status.
3. As with Resumes, what you put in is as important as what you leave out! Make sure that your profile summary and job history reflect the types of roles you want to achieve in the future. This means leaving out jobs earlier in your work history that do not align with your career aspirations. For example, if you have a Uni degree it might be worth leaving out all of your pre-uni jobs! Does an employer need to know that you worked at McDonalds when you were 16?
